1st Corwen (Glyndŵr) Scout Group serves the young people and community of Corwen and the local area. We have 3 sections in our group, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts covering ages from 6 to 14 year olds. We change lives by offering fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.
Scouting helps children and young adults reach their full potential. Scouting develops skills for life including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.
Members take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, and climbing to name a few. As a member you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming and many many more. There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world.
Hello, ever since I was in high school I knew I wanted to work with children. Before having my 3 boys I worked for 15+ years in nurseries and schools. I am a very creative person and enjoy a variety of crafting hobbies such as crochet jewellery making and i have recently learnt how to use a sewing machine. Since becoming a mum I have enjoyed various volunteering opportunities and i have seen my Welsh language skills improve which is something i am really proud of.
I went to cubs and scouts when I was younger, my dad was a scout leader and now I am too! Currently learning Jujutsu, love being outdoors whether it be walking, running, or up to my waist in mud doing obstacle course races!
